Barbie® Shanghai has teamed up with Shanghai-based celebrity chef-restaurateur David Laris to create a chic restaurant, tea room and cocktail bar within the six-storey flagship store in Shanghai. The three gourmet outlets complement other Barbie®-themed experiences, like the Barbie® Spa, Design Centre and Fashion Runway, to form the ultimate Barbie® destination for girls of all ages.
Barbie® Café

Occupying the entire top floor of Barbie® Shanghai, the Barbie® Café is an all-day restaurant where European glamour meets classic American diner. Helming the kitchen is talented young New York chef Tessa Thompson, who formerly worked at the famed Pearl Oyster Bar in New York City.

The extensive all-day menu of healthy brasserie selections is designed with added femininity and fun, but champions the serious food you’d expect from a David Laris concept. Signature dishes include a Fashionista Salad, of shrimp, fennel, mandarin, walnuts and mixed greens, Barbie® Burgers, and a Butterscotch Praline Blondie dessert.


B Bar
After dinner, the crowd gravitates to the circular black B Bar, located at one end of the long Barbie® Café space under a hanging mobile of Barbie® icon cut-outs. The ideal spot for a girls’ night out, the sexy smoke-free B Bar is a magnet for real-life glamour girls – and of course where there are Barbie®s, there will always be Kens. The B Bar rocks until 10pm on weeknights and 2am at weekends, serving an alluring menu of creative cocktails, including the signature Barbie® Tini, a pureed strawberry concoction of Baileys and Malibu topped with Barbie®’s silhouette dusted in cinnamon.

Pink Room

On the fifth floor, The Pink Room is a ladylike tea room for enjoying classic high teas featuring handmade pastries and chocolates displayed, like fine jewelry, in a tempting dessert counter. Extending off the main retail area, The Pink Room is a convenient spot for a restorative espresso and slice of New York Cheesecake or Strawberry Éclair. Fresh-squeezed juices and Iced Cupcakes delight junior tastebuds.

The Pink Room also hosts the Fashion Runway, where little girls can get dressed up in a Barbie® wardrobe and realize their catwalk fantasies while proud parents enjoy leisurely high tea sets served on tiered silver cake stands, along with fine teas and coffees. Equipped with professional lighting and AV facilities, The Pink Room is also a great event venue for product launches and brand presentations.


Barbie® Loves Chocolate
David Laris also developed a quality chocolate line for Barbie® under the brand 'Barbie® Loves Chocolate by David Laris'. The range includes jelly candies, chocolate bars, gift boxes and 24 varieties of deluxe gourmet truffles, all reflecting Barbie®’s signature style and iconographic packaging in hot pink or seductive black. Bright, fun and beautifully presented, the hand-made chocolates will be released in seasonal collections.
